Advanced Camp
Ages 11-18
The Silver Lining Youth Circus summer tour camp is all about performing! Campers need to be between ages 11-18 and want to have fun working hard on a show.
TO QUALIFY for Tour Camp, “Troupers” must:

have prior circus or performance experience (such as dance, theater, gymnastics, singing or playing an instrument, or parkour)

be able to juggle 3 balls (at least)

be able to perform basic tumbling skills (forward roll, cartwheel)
-
be able to work constructively and harmoniously with others on a project
-
be willing to practice on your own without an adult telling you to do it
-
fill out this brief questionnaire to tell us about your performance experience and what coming to the Silver Lining Youth Circus summer tour camp would mean to you.

Questionnaires will be evaluated by camp directors Jackie Davis & Meghan McClure. If you meet our criteria, you’ll be approved! If you still have some work to do, we’ll recommend you for a regular session of Silver Lining Circus Camp -- you may qualify for the Tour after that!
During Week 1, Troupers will collaborate on a theme idea for the show, plan costuming and props, music selection, the works. They will practice their circus skills and select from the following to build a show:
Juggling (balls, rings, or clubs), Diabolo, Flower Sticks, Poi
Unicycling, Rola Bola, Globe, Tightwire, Stilts
Partner Acrobatics, Clowning
(All Troupers:) Chari Vari (tumbling act) and Human Pyramids (finale)
During Week 2, Troupers will travel to perform at venues within a 1-hour drive from the camp location in Milford, NH. Tour locations will be confirmed soon.
Past venues have included: The Souhegan Valley Boys & Girls Club, The Pony Farm, Souhegan High School, YMCAs in Nashua and Keene, Antrim Parks and Rec.
We are seeking drivers to transport Troupers! Please Let us know if you might be available during Week 2 (July 20-24)!
Food:
Troupers must bring:

Hearty snacks and lunches – and LOTS of it!

Healthy foods only. No sodas, candy, or sugary treats (brownies, cupcakes etc.)

A bottle for water! We supply refills as needed.

We regret that we can’t offer a refrigerator or microwave – plan accordingly.

NO PEANUTS! We have campers with life-threatening allergies. Please double-check your packaging. If in doubt, do not send it to camp.
Clothing & belongings:
Troupers should:
-
Wear clothing that is easy to move in and will keep them cool
-
Wear clothing that covers the body sufficiently (avoid too-short shorts, too-low tops)
-
Wear, or bring, sneakers and socks (necessary for certain activities)
-
Bring gymnastic or soft-soled shoes if possible
Troupers should NOT bring or wear:

Jewelry that can get caught (long necklaces or earrings)
-
Clothing with inappropriate language or pictures
-
Electronic games or devices--these are not allowed at camp. (Cell phones may be brought will remain stowed during camp hours.)
Dates and Times:
Mondays - Fridays, July 13-17 and July 20-24
9am-4pm daily (possible exceptions during tour week)
Troupers may be dropped off starting at 8:30 (but not earlier, please).
